Co-existence of Krull filtrations

In this paper we detail the connection between finitely presented filtratio ns and the model-theoretic definition of m-dimension. This is used to show that a locally coherent category l has such a finitely presented Krull filt ration iff it is semi-noetherian. Finally, we use model-theoretic results o f Ziegler to establish some new connections between a locally coherent cate gory and its conjugate. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
