Abstract
The final sunscreen monograph, released on May 21, 1999, defined the upper limit for sun protection factor rating to 30+, revised the list of accepted active agents allowed in sunscreens, and changed the permissible wording o f product labeling. These changes are important to the dermatologist who us es sunscreens as part of skin cancer prevention.
