M. Masuda et al., Electrodeposition of tungsten and related voltammetric study in a basic ZnCl2-NaCl (40-60 mol %) melt, J ELCHEM SO, 148(1), 2001, pp. C59-C64
The electrodeposition of tungsten and Voltammetric experiments were perform
ed in basic ZnCl2-NaCl (40-60 mol %) melts containing various tungsten comp
ounds at 450 degreesC. In constant potential electrolysis, metallic tungste
n was obtained from WO3, K2WO4, WCl4, and K2WCl6, but not from K3W2Cl9 and
WCl2. Similar to the case of acidic melt (60-40 mol %), the oxide ion or an
oxochlorotungsten species may participate in the electrodeposition process
. The presence of molecular oxygen does not interfere with the process. (C)
