Abstract
We provide a review of experimental and theoretical studies devoted to exci plex rare-halide lasers. The main kinetic processes governing the operation of such lasers are considered, and the properties of widespread lasers are pointed out. The problems arising in the mathematical modeling of exciplex lasers are discussed.
