Abstract
Since 1984, several quasicrystalline materials were selected for possible t echnological applications as coatings and composites. A few examples of pro ducts derived from such materials are now on the market. The aim of this re view is along several key points raised by the technological prospects of q uasicrystals, namely composition tailoring and industrial processing of thi ck coatings, surface preparation and properties, and new potential applicat ions.
