Abstract
Two patch antennas integrated with Schottky diodes are implemented to act a s direct-conversion transceivers. The antennas' performances, such as modul ation, demodulation, radiation pattern, and conversion loss, are analyzed a nd measured. The advantages of the active antennas are simple circuitry, lo w power consumption, and natural rejection for the image-frequency signal. (C) 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
