Carrismyces proliferatus anam. gen. & sp. nov., a new genus of hyphomycetes
collected on the rotten stem of a tree fern (Cyathea sp.) in a Mexican clo
ud forest, is described and illustrated. The genus is characterized by mono
tretic, percurrent conidiogenous cells and obconical, subglobose, broadly p
yriform to turbinate, muriform, dark brown or black conidia often with shor
