Abstract
Studies in three different transgenic mouse models suggest that the amyloid beta -protein contributes to memory loss in Alzheimer disease. Immunizatio n with an amyloid beta -peptide fragment reduces learning and memory impair ments in mice, and this approach may eventually be used to prevent and/or t reat this disease in people.
