Abstract
Most organizations do a good job of establishing strategic objectives and of crafting a strategy that is designed to achieve these objective s. However, the question of whether the strategy, even if successfully implemented, can in fact yield the espoused objectives is rarely ente rtained. And, even when it is entertained, the processes that are empl oyed for answering the question leave much to be desired. The Strategi c Forum engages a senior management team in a rigorous process designe d to align strategy and business processes with stated objectives. Sen ior management teams emerge from a Strategic Forum with a clearer oper ational picture of how their business works and with a greater sense o f what is needed to ensure an ongoing internal consistency among objec tives, strategy, and business processes.
