Abstract
Benzyltriphenylphosphonium peroxomonosulfate (BnPh3P+HSO5-) (1) is used as a new reagent for oxidative deprotection of trimethylsilyl and tctrahydropy ranyl ethers and ethylene acetals to afford carbonyl compounds in refluxing acetonitrile in the presence of bismuth chloride.
