Abstract
Synthesis and electrical properties of a new oligo 1,10-bis(4'-methyl-2,2'- bipyridyl-4-yl)decane are described. The material is prepared by the action of n-BuLi oil 4,4'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine and subsequent reaction with 1 ,8-dibromooctane. The structure was unequivocally established by H-1-NMR, s ize exclusion chromatography, mass spectrometry and light absorption spectr oscopy. Thin films prepared from the oligomer by casting from solution show ed typical, electrical insulator properties which were studied by capacitan ce-voltage technique. Electrochemical stability of the films in contact wit h a neutral electrolyte was monitored.
