The kinetics of the polymerization and copolymerization of ethylene with 1-
octene and 4-methyl-1-pentene initiated by five bis(indenyl) derivatives of
metallocene catalysts differing by chirality and substituents in bridge gr
oups was studied. The activity of the catalysts was found to depend on thei
r structure and the temperature of polymerization. It was shown that high-m
olecular-mass polymers may be prepared with a high yield at temperatures su
itable from the technological viewpoint (70-80 degreesC). The thermal chara
cteristics of the resulting polymers were determined by DSC.
