The kinetics of PP macroradicals termination generated under gamma -irradia
tion in the presence of low-molecular-mass compounds immobilized in the pol
ymer matrix, which are used as monomers in free-radical polymerization both
active, such as styrene and methyl methacrylate, and inactive, such as vin
yltriethoxysilane, was studied by EPR spectroscopy. It was shown that the t
ype of the monomer additives determines the mechanism and the rate of PP ma
croradicals termination. The effective rate constants for the macroradicals
termination in the presence and absence of the low-molecular-mass compound
s under examination were calculated.
