L. Zeng et al., Thermodynamic study of calcium based sulphur recovery for kraft black liquor gasification - Looking at the results of a global equilibrium analysis, PULP PAPER, 101(12), 2000, pp. 111-117
A global equilibrium analysis rr as performed to simulate the recovery of s
ulphur with a regenerable sorbent, Ca(OH)(2), from the product gas of kraft
black liquor (KBL) gasification. Thr sulphur-removal efficiency rr;as disc
ussed in terms of the operating temperature, pressure and Ca/S molar ratio.
The sulphided sorbent, CaS, can be regenerated with a caustic solution at
temperatures below 100 degreesC. Consequently, a high sulphidity white liqu
or is obtained after separation of the solid Ca(OH)(2), while the latter ca
n be re-used in the desulphurization stage. Based on this equilibrium analy
sis, a process configuration is presented far sulphur recovery for kraft bl
ack liquor gasification.
