Phase equilibria in the TI2MoO4-R-2(MoO4)(3) (R = In, SC) Systems are studi
ed by X-ray powder diffraction, differential thermal analysis, and visual p
olythermal analysis to map T-x diagrams. The existence of 1 : 1 double moly
bdates described in the literature is substantiated. A new compound, . Tl5I
n(MoO4)(4) is prepared. First crystal data are reported for the high-temper
ature polymorph of TlSc(MoO4)(2): the KAl(MoO4)(2) structure type, trigonal
system, space, group P(3) over bar m1, Z = 1, a = 5.757(1) Angstrom, and c
= 7.90(1) Angstrom. at 850 degreesC.
