Abstract
This article is a long gloss on remarks made by two French psychoanalysts, Denis Vasse and Francoise Dolto, who talk about the lack of desire expressi ng itself through language. In particular, they argue that the human being has to be born to language by the word of a third. One's identity takes sha pe through a personal narrative which should escape the illusions of the im aginary. Spiritual counselling analysis are both trying to hear/let the Bre ath speak through the lack of desire.
