Abstract
Measurements of carbon dioxide concentration and flux have been made o ver a tropical forest in Brazil, Observations of convective and noctur nal boundary layer height made at the same site have been used to inve stigate the influence of the atmospheric boundary layer on the concent ration measurements. The results explain some of the features of the o bserved trends in CO2 concentration and illustrate the importance of t aking the atmospheric boundary layer into account when interpreting su rface measurements.
