Abstract
The leaves of Eupatorium semialatum were investigated for the occurrence of pyrrolizidine alkaloids. Although this type of alkaloids generally occurs in the Eupatorieae, only unusual non-toxic pyrrolizidines of the tussilagin type were identified. All compounds are methyl esters of the corresponding beta -amino acids. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
