Killing activity (KA) and antibody-dependent cell cytotoxicity (ADCC) of ne
utrophils from normal cattle and cattle with bovine leucocyte adhesion defi
ciency (BLAD) were compared in order to evaluate the cytotoxicity of CD18-d
eficient bovine neutrophils. The killing activity of CD18-deficient neutrop
hils was significantly lowered (p<0.01) when compared to normal neutrophils
, whereas ADCC activity was increased. Fc receptor for immunoglobulin G (Fc
yR-IgG) mediated ADCC of neutrophils appeared to be enhanced in BLAD-neutro
phils.
