Abstract
The present study showed that it is possible to control the silver scurf di sease caused by the fungus Helminthosporium solani Durieu and Mont. in stor ed potato (Solanum tuberosum) by fogging the storage rooms with 10% hydroge n peroxide plus (HPP). The percentage of infected tubers after 6 months of storage, following five treatments, was 2% compared with 38% in the non-tre ated control. Percent decay after a single treatment with 10% HPP 6 months post harvest was 16%. Furthermore, treatment with HPP controlled the growth of the fungus on the skin of infected harvested tubers.
