Abstract
An alternative PCR analysis to screen for cry7 genes is proposed, based on the five conserved blocks of amino acids of Bacillus thuringiensis toxins a nd their encoding DNA sequences. A complete set of five primers was constru cted, four direct and one reverse, yielding four specific amplicons. Modifi ed profiles can identify new cry genes.
