Abstract
The relation between the parameters of the stratosphere measured with meteo rological balloons and the critical frequency in the F2 region was consider ed. It was shown that a sufficiently high positive correlation between the altitude of 100 hPa level and f(0)F2, previously found by the authors on th e basis of the data Collected in April-June 1996, 1997, and 1998, has also been observed during this period in 1999. The correlation between h(100) an d f(0)F2 in the other. periods of the year sharply varies and even changes its sign. The analysis of the fine structure of the variations in both para meters relative to the mean curve indicates that a sufficiently high correl ation exists between the values for a time lag of a few days.
