Abstract
We analyze the Schild's ladder parallel transport procedure for on arbitrar y connection. We demonstrate that the procedure, while it can be performed for any connection. in fact is only capable of detecting the symmetric part of this connection. In geometries with a symmetric connection it fulfills its goal to express connection and parallel transport of any vector in term s of geodesics of such geometries.
