Abstract
A comparative study of structure and ornamentation of Ulota bruchii and U. crispa peristomes is reported. New peristomial characters and those previou sly suggested are recorded and discussed, and characters enabling an accura te discrimination of the taxa are proposed. Among them, the endostome struc ture and ornamentation are the characters that afford the most accurate dis crimination.
