Essential oil obtained by hydrodistillation from the leaves of Myrrhinium a
tropurpureum (Myrtaceae) growing in southern Brazil were analyzed by CC and
GC/MS. Twenty compounds (99.3%) have been identified of which alpha -pinen
e (12.2%), limonene (35.0%) and 1,8-cineole (23.4%) were the major componen
ts.
