Abstract
Global positioning system code, carrier and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) mea surements are corrupted by multipath signals that can significantly affect the quality of data used for static and kinematic positioning applications. A tool to simulate code, carrier, and SNR multipath errors in a user-defin ed, multiantenna and multireflector environment for multipath error analysi s is developed and described. Various relationships between parameters such as the multipath amplitude, phase, and frequency with the satellite dynami cs, antenna-reflector distance, antenna-reflector geometry, and signal freq uency are derived. Multipath spatial and temporal correlation are analyzed using simulated and field data. The similarities and differences of code, c arrier, and SNR multipath error characteristics are also investigated.
