The drive for greater efficiency, combined with increasingly complex wells,
requires operators to search for improved work methods. This search has ta
ken the form of better interdisciplinary communication and cooperation alli
ed with better-adapted software tools. However, there is still a lack of sh
ared understanding of the problems faced by the various disciplines in the
design and construction of today's wells. Visualization provides one means
to convey complex models simply, but in most cases it has been used only wi
thin the reservoir.
