Abstract
In the present paper, it is demonstrated that by slow evaporation on a subs trate of a ferrofluid made of maghemite nanocrystals, in an applied magneti c field, the nanocrystals are organized in ribbons. The magnetization easy axes are partially oriented. The orientation of the axes strongly depends o n the strength of the applied field used during the deposition process.
