Abstract
Chronic recurrent multifocal osteomyelitis is a rare inflammatory bone dise ase of children and adolescents that is characterized by localized swelling and pain in the clavicles and long bones of the limbs. Diagnosis of chronic recurrent multifocal osteomyelitis is made from clinic al signs, characteristic radiographic and histopathologic findings, and neg ative results of microbial cultures. Treatment of chronic recurrent multifocal osteomyelitis in humans includes administration of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or immune modulators , which may be effective in lemurs.
