Abstract
We report experimental results on the angle dependence of mixing the positi ve and the negative magnetoresistance signals in the magnetoresistance (MR) for thin nickel films with uniform grain size. When an inclined film sampl e is rotated through an axis perpendicular to the plane of the magnetic fie ld, the MR shows complete mixing of the positive and the negative magnetore sistance signals at a particular angle of rotation which depends on the inc lined angle of sample. This mixing mechanism is also shown to explain the r esistivity oscillation in anisotropic magnetoresistance (AMR).
