Gi. Martsinkevitch et al., Endothelium dependent vasomotor reactions and their noninvasive assessmentby functional tests in subjects with risk factors of atherosclerosis, KARDIOLOGIY, 40(12), 2000, pp. 56-58
Aim. To assess vascular dilative and constrictive reserve in young men with
risk factors of atherosclerosis by means of determination of sensitivity o
f brachial artery endothelium to changes of shear stress and hyperventilati
on. Methods and material. High resolution ultrasound (7,5 MHz) was used for
measurement of the brachial artery diameter, systolic and volume blood flo
w velocity at rest, during hyperemia and after hyperventilation in 50 men a
ged 20-30 years with risk factors of atherosclerosis and 25 healthy volunte
ers of the same age. Results and conclusion. Substantial differences were f
ound between groups both in absolute values of index of vascular adaptation
and in its response to stress.
