Abstract
The enantioselective synthesis of a new and extremely effective organo selenium reagent (2) is reported. This chiral reagent was found to rea ct with alkenes with a very high degree of facial selectivity in selen omethoxylation and ring closure reactions. In some cases the diastereo selectivities were found to be as high as 98%. (C) 1997 Elsevier Scien ce Ltd.
