Abstract
Intra-familial transmission of hepatitis C virus (HCV) in HIV and HCV co-in fections is not well documented. The objective of this article is to provid e a scientific update on HCV transmission in sexual partners and household contacts of HCV and HIV co-infected subjects. The prevalence of anti-HCV an tibodies in sexual partners and household contacts of HCV and HIV co-infect ed patients is low. There is not much data on the regular intra-familial tr ansmission of HCV No specific recommendation should be made to patients, to prevent intra-familial transmission of hepatitis C.
