Abstract
Symmetrical and asymmetrical partially shorted patch antennas are numerical ly studied using the finite-difference time-domain method. It is observed t hat the patch size of the asymmetrical partially shorted case can be reduce d more than that of the symmetrical case, while the bandwidth of the former is less than that of the latter.
