Abstract
High-K calc-alkaline and shoshonite rocks have been interpreted to be the o ldest Tertiary post-orogenic volcanic rocks in the Vardar Zone of the North Dinarides, although until recently no radiometric ages had been available. This paper reports on K-Ar whole-rock ages of 30.4-28.5 Ma of five samples from the North Dinarides. The rocks appear to be contemporaneous with both shoshonites (latites) from the southeastern Vardar Zone and with Periadria tic tonalites.
