SYNTHESIS OF NEW NITROGEN-CONTAINING PERFLUOROALKYL IODIDES

Perfluoro(dimethylamino)-, perfluoro(diethylamino)-, perfluoro(1-pyrro lidinyl)-, perfluoromorpholino-, perfluoropiperidino- and perfluoropro poxy-substituted perfluoroalkyl iodides were synthesized directly by t he reaction of the corresponding perfluoroacyl fluorides with lithium iodide in high yield. Under controlled reaction conditions, it was pos sible to synthesize either iodo-perfluoroacyl fluorides or perfluoroal kylidene diiodides by the reaction of perfluoro (alkanedioyl) difluori des with lithium iodide. Perfluoro(alpha-alkylamino-substituted alkyl) iodides may be good candidates for the media of solar-pumped lasers. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science S.A.
