J. Auque et al., Elastic properties of a dural substitute in microvascular decompression ofthe trigeminal and facial nerves, NEUROCHIRE, 46(6), 2000, pp. 573-574
In order to decrease the microvascular compressions of the trigeminal and f
acial nerves, the authors report a new surgical method. The procedure consi
sts in interposing a piece of non absorbable polyesterurethane dum substitu
te folded in two between the nerve and the vessel. This provides an elastic
effect which keeps the vessel at a certain distance from the nerve and dec
reases the transmission of the vascular beats.
