Abstract
[GRAPHICS] This first asymmetric synthesis of enantiopure desacetylumuravumbolide and umuravumbolide via asymmetric reduction, allylboration, and ring closing me tathesis confirms their revised structures and configurations. A convenient procedure to upgrade the enantiopurity of alpha,beta -acetylenic alcohols is also described.
