A deep, narrow interference minimum that exists for symmetric noncoplanar (
e,2e) ionization experiments, first discovered in helium, has now been foun
d in neon. In helium, the 1s electron is ionized, whereas in neon, the mini
mum is observed ionizing the inner 2s electron. The depth of the measured m
inima indicates that a simple, underlying coherent process is occurring in
the reaction.
