Y. Xu et al., Low-energy e-H-2 scattering: Separation of dissociative attachment and dissociation channels - art. no. 014703, PHYS REV A, 6301(1), 2001, pp. 4703
Electron impact dissociation and dissociative attachment (DA) via the (2)Si
gma (+)(u) shape resonance in e-H-2 collisions is treated by the quasiclass
ical version of the nonlocal resonance theory. Optical theorem is applied t
o analyze ail the energetically accessible channels. Collisionally induced
dissociation and dissociative attachment cross sections for vibrationally o
r rotationally excited H-2 molecule are presented in the electron energy ra
nge up to 5 eV. It is shown that the DA cross sections we published recentl
y [Phys. Rev. A 61, 052705 (2000)] in fact represent the sum of the cross s
ections for the DA and dissociation processes in the energy range above the
dissociation threshold.
