The mean lifetimes of ten states in Nd-133 excited via the reaction Pd-104(
S-32,2pn) at E-32s = 135 MeV were measured by means of the recoil-distance
Doppler-shift method. The spectra obtained by setting a gate on the shifted
component of a transition directly feeding the level of interest were anal
yzed within the framework of the differential decay-curve method. The intra
band transition strengths are compared to calculations within the particle
plus rotor model which reveal differences in the quadrupole deformations ep
silon and gamma of the bands studied.
