Photoneutron cross sections were measured for Be-9 in the energy range from
1.78 to 6.11 MeV with laser-induced Compton backscattered gamma rays. Reso
nance parameters [E-R,B(E1),Gamma (n)] for the 1/2(+) and 5/2(+) states wer
e deduced from the least-squares fit to the data, while Gamma (gamma) for t
he 5/2(-) state was deduced from the energy-integrated cross section. The r
eaction rate (alpha alphan) is discussed.
