replacement of one carbonyl oxygen of the anhydride ring in pyrryl ful
gide by the strong electron-withdrawing dicyanomethylene group, the ab
sorption maximum wavelength of their corresponding colored forms (4 an
d 7) shifts from lambda(max) = 640nm to lambda(max) = 820nm in acetoni
trile.
