Reaction of the enolate of N-ethoxycarbonyl-3,4-dihydropyridin-4-one with m ethyl acrylate provided N-ethoxycarbonyl-2-azabicyclo [2.2.2] -7-methoxycar bonyloctan-5-one by diastereoselective double Michael addition reaction.
