Abstract
Depending on the reaction conditions methylaluminium dichloride, MeAlCl2, a nd trimethylsilyl alkanethiolates, Me3SiSR, give dichloroaluminium alkaneth iolates, Cl2AlSR with R = Me and Et or methylchloroaluminium alkanethiolate s, MeAl(SR)Cl with R = Me, Et, and i-Pr. The reaction pathways are describe d and IR and H-1 NMR spectroscopic data are presented.
