Abstract
This paper presents a topology optimization algorithm for Mindlin-Reissner plate structures. Single- and three-layered artificial material models are used with the resizing algorithm of Bendsoe and Kikuchi. The objective is t o produce the stiffest single- or three-layered plate for a given volume by redistributing the material throughout the plate.
