Abstract
The pyrolysis of several ammonium metallates (M=V, Cr, Mo and W) has b een investigated using mass spectroscopy and infrared spectroscopy ana lyses of the evolved gases. Besides ammonia and water formation, unusu al redox process leading to formation of nitrous oxide N2O is evidence d providing routes for the preparation of alternative phases of metal oxides of interest for catalytic applications or intercalation compoun ds.
