Abstract
A series of novel star-shaped copolymers containing C-60 core [C-60(PPMS)(X )(CH3)(X). C-60(PMS)(X) (CH3)(X), C-60(PVK)(X)H-X and C-60(PAN)(X)(CH3)(X)] were prepared by reaction of C-60 with the living n-butyl-terminated vinyl polymer which was synthesized via anionic polymerization reaction of a vin yl compound in the presence of n-butyllithiurn. The results of the electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) experiment indicated that the spectroscopic p roperties of the copolymers are different from their parent polymers and pu re C-60. The star-shaped copolymers: exhibited two kinds of paramagnetic sp ecies. The temperature dependence of the EPR spectra of the C-60(PAN)(X)(CH 3)(X) copolymer has also been investigated, and a pyrolytic mechanism of th e formation of a new conjugated system for this copolymer is suggested.
