Abstract
In a recent BBS target article, MacNeilage (1998) presents what he claims t o be the only theory that call account for the evolution of language. Howev er, major portions of his target article basically repeat and in many respe cts are identical to the theories of language evolution and development fir st proposed and detailed by the present commentator.
