Abstract
A new synthetic species, Cucumis hytivus J.-F. Chen & J. H. Kirkbr. (2n = 3 8), obtained by doubling the number of chromosomes in the sterile interspec ific F-1 hybrid (2n = 19) between C. sativus L. (2n = 14) and C. hystrix Ch akr. (2n = 24), is described.
